Clear Plastic Handbag Buying Guide

We all know that security concerns and guidelines are changing and clear plastic handbag policies are being put in place. In response to insane terrorist attacks and mass shootings, many organizations and venues are implementing a range of standard security practices that have quickly become our new normal. And while it’s sad, in a way, how quickly we get used to a new set of requirements and a new limitation on our lives, it’s also simple practicality. Life goes on. And if you need to carry around a clear plastic handbag to get on with it, then so be it.

An unexpected result of this, however, is the flood of cheap and poorly-designed clear plastic handbags that have hit the market to take advantage of the new NFL and NCAA policies as well as individual clear bag policies springing up all over the country. Where once the clear bag was a stylish outlier for the avant-garde, today it’s easy to get ripped off with clear handbags that simply won’t suit your needs. So how can you be certain you’re buying the right clear plastic  handbag?

Check Your Clear Plastic Handbag to Make Sure it is Compliant

If you’re buying a clear plastic handbag for a specific purpose – say for an NFL game – make sure the place you’re buying from clearly states that the bag is compliant NFL All Clear Tote Bag regulations, like the one of kind clear NFL stadium bags from The Clear Bag Store. If they claim to be compliant but make no mention of the bag’s dimensions or the specifics of the policy, find another source.

Consider Use

Only you know how you’ll use your new clear plastic handbag. Will you need it every day at work? Only when you travel? For specific events?  So don’t be talked into a specific bag. Think about what you’ll use it for and what, therefore will have to fit into it. Walk through your day with the bag, mentally, and consider any potential problems that might arise if you get a too-small bag, or a too-large one.

Not every clear plastic handbag is made the same. Check to make sure the store lists the materials your bag is made from. If they don’t list those materials, be suspicious – they may be sending you a flimsy, poorly manufactured bag that won’t hold up. You can be sure of high quality of the clear plastic handbag that has a teal strip zipper pull and a rubber tag that says:

Ideally, your clear plastic handbag should be made from tough and durable ultra-clear PVC, strong polyester strapping, and nylon stitching. A clear plastic handbag made from these materials will last for years, even decades, and be able to handle your densest lunch or most stylish purchases.

Finally, a handbag shouldn’t be just a bucket – pockets and flaps and organizers are the secret to loving your clear plastic handbag. The more versatile it is, the more thought the designer put into it, the more useful it is as a bag, which should be its number one feature.

These days you’re pretty much going to need a clear plastic handbag. But that doesn’t mean you settle for whatever clear bag offered to you. Use this guide to make sure you get the clear bag you deserve!

Clear and Mesh Backpacks Helpful for School Security

The Clear Bag Store is dedicated to providing high quality clear and mesh backpacks. We know it’s a sad fact of life that our schools often reflect the society that organizes and funds them. In other words, our schools are often mirrors that reflect back what’s going on in society around them. Children of any age are sponges, absorbing everything they come into contact with, and the way in which they regurgitate those impressions can be startling – and violent.

It’s no surprise, then, that schools around the country are starting to implement clear and mesh backpacks to their security policies like the ones that have been implemented by the NFL, the NCAA, and countless work places and venues across the nation. When we have incidents like the April 9th stabbings at Franklin Regional Senior High School in Pennsylvania, and mandating clear and mesh backpacks is a reasonable response to keep our children safe.

Clear and Mesh Backpacks for Additional Security Measures

At the moment no one knows what prompted a sophomore, 16 years old, to smuggle two 8-inch kitchen knives into the school and go on a rampage, stabbing 20 fellow students and a security guard before the school’s assistant principal tackled him and restrained him.

What is known is that the school had already implemented what we used to think of as adequate security. Students were not allowed to carry backpacks in the halls, and security guards were in place to monitor hallways. However, students were allowed to use drawstring bags to carry gym equipment and clothing. This is going to change now, as only clear backpacks will be allowed to be used going forward.

Spread of Clear Bag Security

The school’s decision to alter its security policies and mandate clear and mesh backpacks is understandable in the wake of the tragedy. It’s also representative of a new movement towards clear bags as a major component of modern security thought. The clear bag policy might not have prevented Hribal from smuggling the knives into the school. However, the policy may have prompted security guards or other students to notice the knives and perhaps prevented the tragedy.

It’s clear that schools all over the country – even schools with affluent and academically high-achieving students – need to begin to take into consideration and implement new security policies. We can no longer assume that children are innocent, that tight security in schools is paranoid, or that we will ever be able to return to a “relaxed” or “old-school” approach to our daily security. The only important thing is that our kids get an education safely and effectively, and requiring clear backpacks, clear tote bags and gym bags for all students is a key element in helping to ensure that safety.

Clear and mesh backpacks aren’t magic. Unstable people will still attempt horrific acts. But if a security guard had been able to visually inspect the troubled students bag – or note that he was violating the clear and mesh backpacks requirement – twenty-one people might not be recovering from stab wounds today. Clear plastic bags wholesale are is an effective and cost efficient added safety measure.

My Clear Bag: An All-Access Pass

I love my clear bag. The terms “security theater” and “security culture” didn’t mean much to me before the last few years and a new job. In the good old days before people started setting off bombs everywhere you could carry around any bag and be confident of gaining access to any building or venue. The worst you ever had to endure was a cursory search of your bag, when a bored security guard would glance in and sheepishly push a few things around, trying to see if you had sticks of dynamite in there.

Today, it’s all different. Getting around is frustrating, because everywhere you go you’re stopped and told that you can only bring clear handbags inside. My workplace, event venues, museums – they all have strict workplace policies regarding clear handbags, and so naturally I invested in a cool clear tote bag  to solve my security dilemma. And you know what? My clear bag is more than just a cute accessory or something to hold all my stuff. My clear bag is an all-access pass to the city. I’m lovin’ it.

I Take My Clear Bag Everywhere I Go

Now, armed with my clear bag, I no longer have to call ahead to ask about security measures when I have a meeting in a downtown skyscraper. With my clear bag I no longer have to worry about what I’ll do with my phone and other essentials if I have to check my purse in the lobby when I attend a play or a concert. I don’t have to think in the morning about what bag to bring to work, and I don’t have to worry that I’ll have trouble getting into any building anywhere in town. I just breeze in and out, because my clear bag is compliant with all security measures. As more and more employers and sporting events implement clear bag policies, the power of my clear bag grows and grows.

And again, I confess: I love my clear bag.

I thought at first that this was one of those “things used to be better” moments as we slowly give up the stuff we love in order to be a little more “safe” (whatever that means). And that may still be true at the heart of it (after all, forcing the stylish young ladies of the world to carry clear bags won’t solve world terrorism), but I’ve come to love my clear bag as a style choice. Even if they announced tomorrow the cancellation of “security theater” I’d still carry this little baby.

Why? Reason one: It goes with everything. It doesn’t matter what I’m wearing, my clear bag works. Reason two: It holds everything (and I mean everything) and makes finding my stuff easy. The first time your phone rings at night and you can spot it instantly, glowing in your bag, you know what true control over your life feels like. And finally, it’s durable and easy to clean and so I’ll never lose a bag to spilled wine again. Dresses, yes – about once a month at my current rate. But never another bag.

So, my clear bag has won my heart. And I will be forever grateful.
