Ritenour High School Fire

KTVI Fox 2 News of St. Louis Missouri reported a fire had been set in a bathroom on the second floor at Ritenour High School on Wednesday. No one was hurt and little damage was caused to the school building. Other security issues concern staff, students and parents. After finding two guns inside the school this year students will be required to carry clear book bags, clear backpacks, clear business briefs or laptop bags. The district hopes the new clear bag policy reduces the chances of weapons and other contraband from being brought into the school. The clear bag policy increases security measures and decreases the chances of illegal activity in the school. Some parents feel the mandate will increase the school safety while others feel that metal detectors are needed.
