Cumberland High School pondering clear bag policy
After a bomb threat earlier this week, school board officials in Rhode Island where put on high alert. Students were instructed to bring their school items in clear book bags and backpacks the following day. The school staff set up a security check point where the students of Cumberland High School were required to enter. Cumberland High School student brought there items in Zip-lock type bags as a temporary solution. The one day policy has left students and parent wondering if a permanent mandate or clear bag policy will be adopted into place. The clear backpack and clear book bag policy gave a sense of a secure environment for the day. After searching the high school, member of the state fire marshals office and bomb squad said the bomb threat proved to be only a “hoax”.
